Empire Earth: USA

President Bush on Tuesday said,

"To achieve victory over such enemies, we are pursuing a comprehensive strategy in Iraq. Americans should have a clear understanding of how we look at the war, how we see the enemy, how we define victory, and what we're doing to achieve it."

President Bush is trying to convince skeptical Americans that Iraqi forces are increasingly able to protect their nation but the president is not ready to set dates for withdrawing U.S. troops. The White House issued a 35-page plan, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, titled "Our National Strategy for Victory in Iraq."

As we see it, it could be such an interesting guide to put in practice... let's see. Any way, here is easier to intimidate some allies.

Cinefilia + The Image

From highly acclaimed director Radley Metzger, THE IMAGE (aka THE PUNISHMENT OF ANNE) is a fascinating study of the sadomasochistic relationship between a young girl and an older woman. Based on the classic novel "L'IMAGE" from Jean De Berg, this sexual masterpiece is hailed by critics as one of the best erotic films ever made. Beautifully photographed and loaded with highly charged sexual imagery and provocative situations, THE IMAGE is a cinematic masterpiece that brings the darker side of your deepest erotic fantasies to life.

Cinefilia + "The Man who fell to Earth"

The Man Who Fell to Earth is a daring exploration of science fiction as an art form. The story of an alien on an elaborate rescue mission provides the launching pad for Nicolas Roeg’s visual tour de force, a formally adventurous examination of alienation in contemporary life. Rock legend David Bowie completely embodies the title role, while Candy Clark, Buck Henry, and Rip Torn turn in pitch-perfect supporting performances. The film’s hallucinatory vision was obscured in the American theatrical release, which deleted nearly twenty minutes of crucial scenes and details. The Criterion Collection is proud to present Roeg’s full, uncut version, in this exclusive new director-approved high-definition widescreen transfer.

Cinefilia + "Notes from Underground"

“I am a sick man. ... I am a spiteful man. I am an unattractive man. I believe my liver is diseased.” With those terrifying words begin one of the masterpieces of world literature, now adopted for a groundbreaking cinematic experience by Gary Walkow, with Henry Czerny giving petrifying life to the central character of Fyodor Dostoevsky's “Notes From Underground.” Miserable, arrogant, and self-destructive, the narrator of Dostoevsky's pioneering psychological thriller in existential angst peels off one after another layer of an over-active imagination that like cancer is feeding on its own annihilation. This breathtaking cinematic adaptation of "Notes from Underground" gives it an uncanny visual space to breathe, multi-layered tunnels of time to exorcise its diabolic genius.
